Tri-state used car customers will find long-standing quality in Honda models
Honda has long been known for its quality and reliability. Now the Japanese auto maker can add two more awards to its list of accolades. Car and Driver named the 2011 Honda and the 2011 Honda Fit as two of the "10 Best Cars".
The Accord has received this honor 25 times, which is more than any other model ever, and the Fit has a perfect record of earning the award every year since it launched in the U.S. five years ago. Customers of NJ used cars will find great values in certified pre-owned Honda of all styles.
Honda's awards are many and varied when it comes to the "10 Best" and your Tri-State used car dealer will definitely have some of these award-winning model years in stock for your consideration.
"The Car and Driver '10Best' awards are among the most coveted awards in the industry," said John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "These awards recognize the company's ongoing emphasis on performance, quality and safety, and Honda is honored to have its vehicles regarded so highly over the years."
Here are some of the honored models for the "10 Best" award from Car and Driver that customers of NJ used cars may want to consider:
The Honda Accord has been on the list an astonishing 25 time - almost every year since 1983 with the exceptions of 1992, 1993, 1996 and 1997. And now the 2011 model has made the list again. It shouldn't surprise us.
The CRX, Honda's popular crossover, made the list in its early days in 1985 and 1988, but not since then. I was puzzled by this considering the continued high sales numbers of the CRX and its other recent award, but I suppose with more competition the brands have to take turns.
Honda's go-to car, the Civic, earned the "10 Best" award in 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1996. It's still going strong on sales and quality, but hasn't had the ‘wow' factor that many new models debut with. For the Civic, it's all about staying power and loyalty. Maybe there's an award for that.
The Honda Prelude is another favorite of Tri-State used car buyers and it won the award many times in its early days as well, from 1984 to 1998 it received the title 10 times. The S2000 received this prestigious honor four times: 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004. The green-geared Honda Fit has been named to the list five times, in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 – pretty much its entire lifetime.
So Honda fans and those who haven't had the pleasure of owning a Honda yet have some extra incentive to check out this tried-and-true company.
