Is it possible to use fruit juice in place of priming sugar for my homebrew?
Have a strawberry Belgian strong ale ready to bottle. Wanted to throw some strawberries through the juicer & use that for priming. Was wondering if I could pull this off or am I asking for exploding bottles? If it's do-able, how much should I use for a six gallon batch?
Don't do it. I suspect that your problem would be flat beer, rather than bottle-bombs. Stick with corn sugar, brown sugar, honey, or whatever the recipe recommends. If you want to enhance the strawberry taste, You Can buy flavoring from spicesetc.com. Warning: browsing through their catalog can be addictive and expensive; they have a huge selection.
