Wine Cellar Designs
Building a home wine cellar can be a lot of fun, and can even increase the value of your property. But since everybody has different habits and taste when it comes to wine cellar designs, you need to think about what you are going to use your wine cellar for. Is it going to be for entertainment purposes, are you going to come down to your wine cellar and taste wine, or will you just sneak in and take a bottle?
All of these things are something you need to consider when choosing the best wine cellar design for your wine cellar.
The first step would be to think about how to you purchase your wine. Do you buy individual or just a few wine bottles at the time, or do you buy cases. If you like cases, you may want to include in your wine cellar design storage units like diamond bins – these hold up to 12 bottles and possible more. You Can choose rectangular bins, or diamond cubes...all those are examples of multiple bottle storage.
Some people like the traditional wine cellar designs with individual storage units. Those are good if you like to purchase just a few bottles at a time.
Another important thing to consider when you plan your wine cellar design is the type of bottle do you buy: do you buy the standard type (Burgundy or the Bordeaux) or do you buy bigger bottles like Magnums and Jeroboams. All of those type wine bottles make a difference when choosing between wine cellar designs for your house.
The biggest difference in wine cellar designs is to decide if you want to take more functional approach to your wine cellar, or would you like to use that space to entertain guests. In both cases you need a certain amount of space for your home wine cellar. If you want to have just a functional wine cellar you you'll need at least 3.5 feet on one wall to be able to have the depth to include refrigeration and racking, and to have the ability to walk in and get a bottle. For entertaining purposes, you'll need a much larger wine cellar and a different wine cellar design.
